Instructions for abstract preparation

The abstract must be submitted in MS Word format following the format that you will find in: abstract template (MsWord).

Once completed the abstract, you must assign a file name that identifies the conference topic, author, and the presentation preferences according to the format: Conference topic-Surname-Name-Preferred presentation format-1.doc, where the number following the presentation preferences discriminates between several abstracts of the same author.

For example, if the author William Johnson wants to send two abstracts, the first within the topic "03-Machining Processes" for ORAL presentation, and the second within the topic " 06 - Industrial Metrology "for POSTER presentation, file names will be:

  • 03-Johnson-William-ORAL-1.docx (.doc/.docx)
  • 06-Johnson-William-POSTER-2.docx (.doc/.docx)

The presentation preferences are orientative, corresponding to the scientific committee the decision of the final presentation format. Once named the file correctly, you should send the abstract by e-mail to The deadline for abstract submission is September 30th, 2012.

Instructions for full paper preparation

The full paper must be sent in .doc/.docx (MS Word) format. The full paper must be created using the MS Word template for full paper which can be downloaded below in this section. The template contains the explanation and instructions for preparing the full paper and text styles to be used in each section. For your convenience, you can overwrite the text of the template for the preparation of the full paper.

To send the full paper, you must name the file with the reference code number (example: "235.docx") that has been assigned to your work in the abstract acceptance e-mail.

Instructions for sending the full article

For the submission of the full papers you have to follow these steps:

  1. Prepare the full paper as described above.
  2. Name the file of the full paper with the reference code number assigned in the abstract acceptance e-mail (example "235.docx").
  3. Send the full paper in .doc / .docx format to the technical secretariat by e-mail ( including in the subject the reference code (example "235") of your paper.

Remember that the deadline for the full paper is 2013, 31st January.

Publication of selected works

After the conference, the authors of a reduced group of outstanding papers related to "Precision in Manufacturing" will be invited to submit their research results to be published in a special issue of the Int. J. of Mechatronics & Manufacturing Systems.

In addition, the authors of other selected papers related to "Advances in Materials Processing Technologies" and "Advances in Manufacturing Systems" will be invited to publish them, in an extended form and with updated results, in the periodicals "Materials Science Forum" and "Key Engineering Materials" , respectively, by TTP. These periodicals will be available in full text online.

Instructions for the presentation of the communications

Oral communications

Each delegate will have a maximum of 10 minutes for oral presentation of the work followed by a question session lasting about 5 minutes. The delegates will have a video projector and a computer with Windows operating system, MS Powerpoint presentation program and a PDF reader. Prepare your presentation in POWERPOINT or PDF format. Slides must be written in English. Simultaneous translation Spanish-English is planned, so, the speech can be given in English or Spanish. Each delegate should contact with the moderator of the session for copying the presentation in the assigned room computer.

Selected papers will be considered for publication as a "full-length research papers", subject to a dual peer-review system in international journals.


The size of the posters will be A0 (wide 841 x height 1189 mm). Poster must be written in English. It is also possible to include the title and an abstract (resumen) in Spanish language.

The Manufacturing Engineering Society will award the best posters presented at the conference. Without the need of specifically apply for these awards, the posters will be selected from all the works presented.
